Singapore's survival depends on friendly "Malaysian hinterland!

A thirty year old diplomat (white shirt about to enter his car), a second secretary with the Singapore High Commission in charge of political, who did his post-grad at UKM and has a lot of contacts with local newspapers etc! He could have hired a posh non-diplomatic registered car to Permatang Pauh, but when you have it you flaunt it right, I mean power!
Heb probably said to himself "what do they know (us)they are just a bunch of country bumpkins what would they know!"

Seen at Permatang Pauh, could have used an unidentified car!

Another Singapore diplomat seen at Permatang Pauh by-elections.

So this is why any changes - naturally or manipulated - in this country is crucial to the republic's survival as a country. It is also within that republic's interest that any regime changes in Malaysia must be an unequivocal supporter of Singapore.
"Friendly" Malaysian government will allow Singapore to have an "easy peachy"
negotiation bliss when dealing with Malaysia. Imagine we will be tricked or bullied into submission into giving Singapore the rights to have a pipeline to channel water from Tasek Kenyir to Singapore?!!! Just an example.
I am not saying present or past Malaysian governments have been unfriendly or belligerent toward Singapore interest, I am saying when Tun Mahathir Mohamed was the prime minister he gave Singapore a lot of advise and wisdom on why being kiasu is not part of any diplomatic negotiating tactic!
The recent Permatang Pauh parliamentry by- election, which saw Brother Anwar Bin Ibrahim being voted in as the MP, was a much invested and much anticipated event by many countries with vested interest in Malaysia. The US Embassy sent its diplomats to "oversee" the election to ensure it is being held without hindrance. Singapore High Commission also sent its diplomats.
The thing is can we try to imagine of any Malaysian diplomat to travel in a diplomatic vehicles in plain view to "oversee" any by-elections in that island republic? I doubt it, we will probably have to ask for permission from the foreign ministry and when allowed we will be accompanied by special branch officers so we will not inadvertently veered out of the way too far from the permissible parameter of the "by-elections".
Well, several Singapore diplomats were seen at Permatang Pauh and chauffeured driven in their diplomatic registered vehicle without care or having to bother to realise they may have just broke diplomatic protocol agreed upon by both countries?! This I think Wisma Putra has to look into, or do we have the political will to do it? I somehow doubt our capability to fight for our sovereignty and dignity as a country. This is my thought on the matter.
Finally, al I am saying is that if Pakatan Rakyat were to form a government it will be more apt to be bullied into submission by the more aggressive Singapore's PAP.
The way I see it if Pakatan Rakyat were to form a government relationship between the two countries, and in a criminal parlance if I may if they were both hardcore convicts in prison, Malaysia will always be the BITCH! And S'pore the DOMINANT partner!

ends!

I totally disagree with your perception that when Pakatan comes to power it will compromise with Singapore. It is only the BN government under Bodowi that has compromised our national integrity. Just look what Botak Albar did to screw up and hand over our beloved Pulau Batu Putih to the Singaporeans in a silver platter. Ask Che Det and he will tell you how Botak and his gang were intending to sell Johore sand by lorry loads to Singapore. Now if Bodowi and his corrupt to the core Botak gang continue to run this country, don't be surpised if we continue to loose our EEZ around beloved Johore.

Diplomatic cars from the US Embassy, Singapore , British , Australian and Canadian High Commissions were all seen at Permatang Pauh. Probably never been so many diplomats in one place outside of KL in recent years.

But I don't think they broke any diplomatic protocol. Accredited diplomats don't need Malaysian government "permission" to go to any public place, unless its been specifically declared off-limits by Foreign Ministry.

you see what kind of inferior mentality malaysians businessmen have. they always thought their businesses always depend on singapore when the critical masses is more here than there.

singapore would always depend on our supply for fresh water, fresh vegetables, fresh fruits, even our sand and so forth.

majority of the businesses here depends on singapore companies for their survival because agencies rights for their products are held by mostly singapore companies.

its time for malaysian businesses to hold the agencies rights for themselves for their businesses to turn things around.

Agree with you they are very polished and articulate and polite, they can engage very well in any conversation. I have known quite a few in my life they are a very special breed. My take is , with these lots Singapore deserve to win in anything vis-a-vis Malaysia. The same cannot be said of our young and new generation diplomats, they are half-speak and half-think civil servants who always hide behind their arrogance to hide their shortcoming and inadequacy. Most of them are not articulate enough to express their views on Malaysian policies if the country's life depend on it. Gone were the days with the likes of Ghazali Shafiee, Tan Sri Kamil, Tan Sri Razali, Deva something! bSDigh

Well, Singapore itself, as a nation, is insulting to even average intelligence. Though very proud of its economic progress, the human value has to be sacrificed.

Human value is replaced with Khai-su.

I personally do not think that Singapore's survival is depending on Malaysia but i do admit that Singapore progression is depending on the stability of Malaysia.
Btw, i strongly disagree if PR needs to compromise to SG in negotiating the bilateral issues. What i hope is PR can compete with SG and beat them down. It should have happened in the very beginning since we have more advantages than them. I don't think that this is impossible to be done.

how come nobody sees it. spore and msia are interdependent. They will not die without each other, BUT they will do very much worse without each other. go look at the trade figures on both sides and go figure.

piggy singh, kia-suism is not unique to spore. If you go overseas a little more and open your eyes, you will see that just about every major city in the world that is worth mentioning have these traits. It comes from living in a competitive big city. You should see those ang mohs queing up for a sale at 3am but the shops open at 8am. And why do you talk about human value when the only one you seem to encourage is scorn?

Singapore has got money. If malaysia is not willing to sell, I'm sure Indonesia would be glad to pick up the business. If Sin pulls out its investments and send all working Malaysians in their country back, we will have goods with no one to buy, skilled workers with no one to employ.
Who needs who now ? We can prosper together or choke in our own ego.
