Prominent Malaysian opposition member accepted invitation to a special beauty pageant!

Reliable sources in Manila, the Philippines, told me a prominent member of a Malaysian opposition party has been invited to attend the transvestite and transgender Miss Amazing Phillipines Beauties 2011. "Thus far he has accepted the invitation," said Ruiz, one of the organisers.

He also said three other members of parliament from the Malaysian opposition party have also accepted the invitation.

The pageant aims to bolster friendship amongst the participants and of those from neighbouring countries, as well as to give a chance for transsexuals, transgenders and transvestites to showcase their beauty and talent.

A curious case of Kalimullah Hassan suing Matthias Chang, to my minds eye!
Kalimullah is suing Matthias for defamation and as an ordinary citizen of this country I failed to see the relevancy as to why Kalimullah had to mention the name of the current prime minister's son name and also the former prime minister's son name into his case.

I also remember last month when an Australian newspaper in Perth reported, wrongly , the daughter of Malaysian prime minister on a "spending spree" while her father was attending the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM).

Here is the thing, why did the newspaper only singled out the daughter of our prime minister shopping, and it turned out it was not even true, when there were many many more heads of governments attending the meeting in Perth. So what's the real reason, eh!

Back to Kalimullah Hassan, as far as I am concerned, he could have easily cited other cases to strengthen his argument, instead of dragging name of the current prime minister in a round about way and also the name of the former prime minister. So what's the real reason, eh!

Phnom Penh a Charming City!

In 1991 I had the opportunity to travel to Battambang and Phnom Penh right after the civil war and atrocities committed by the Khmer Rouge...it was horrible, to put it very mildly!
When the Paris Agreement to end the killing in Cambodia was achieved, I remember going to the office of the United Nations Transitional Authority in Cambodia (UNCTAC) Special Representative to oversee the implementation of the agreement, he was UN Secretary-General's special representative,Yasushi Akashi.
He told reporters then that "Cambodia and its people will bounce back to normalcy......one day"
That was 20 years ago today!! And guess what Akashi was right in his prediction and today Phnom Penh is tagged as the Charming City, and on the verge of taking off economically and it is indeed a charming and a happy place to be.
Since 1991, I had the opportunity to visit Cambodia -- to Siem Reap, Battambang and of course its capital Phnom Penh. In 1991 I visited our boys in blue who served as the United Nations Peace keepers, with valour!
And friends I have plenty over there and they are truly a real friend. Last week I was in Phnom Penh and was specially invited to a friend's wife birthday party at a club called St Tropez, and contrary to what it was 20 years ago, the club could have easily be in a posh and trendy New York city areas.
The patrons were polite and civilised and no one smoke in there I was happy doing the salsa without having to stave off cigarette smoke , or cigar smoke for that matter!
Cambodia is nowhere near perfect and there are still some poor people living in it however compared to what it was the government there is doing everything in its power to reduce abject poverty.
If you are anywhere near a hotel called Nagaworld you will see a theme park complete with a giant ferries wheel and a giant swing in a shape of a pirate ship and from my hotel I can hear a scream of children but this time it was a scream of happiness....unlike the scream of the past!

The West Australian must, unreservedly, apologise to Najib and his family!

Not so credible a newspaper!!

The clarification made by The West Australian on Najib and family, but not good enough!

Now an Australian newspaper, The West Australian, has admitted an erroneous reporting on Prime Minister Dato Najib Tun Razak's daughter spending during CHOGM it must now make a public apology to him (the prime minister) and to his family and to Malaysia, for the sake of a continued strong and positive bilateral relations between the two countries.
The admission, short of a real apology, has now gone viral throughout the internet, however the The West Australian must now apologise to Najib and his family for a distress it has caused over an unchecked story on the family of the prime minister.
Having said that it is now incumbent upon the opposition portal, Keadilan Daily, to also tender an apology to Najib and his family, and failing that , some one must sue this opposition portal.

Perth: Gutter Politics 2!

On page ten of The West Australian, dated October 31st, 2011, a strange but small article describing Perth city retailers reaping wards from the recent CHOGM meeting which says:" .......while Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak's daughter believed to have spent AUD$60,000 in David Jones....." was totally wrong, since none of his daughters were In Perth at the said time and day.
We are not sure why this particular newspaper picked and mentioned only the name of Malaysian prime minister at CHOGM but sources told me it has to do with at the behest of Bersih's dirty tricks committee, funded by the Malaysian opposition, to discredit Malaysia and it's leaders oversea.
Gutter politics at its best! Well you decide!
